On January 29th, all Quebecers were shocked and heartbroken to hear of the brutal attack on the Quebec City mosque that left six of our fellow citizens dead. Now, a month later, we gather in solidarity seeking to build bridges between all communities in Quebec, to help foster understanding, trust and social cohesion.
It is a chance for us to reach out to our neighbours and stand together against division, as we get to know each other better and commit ourselves to fighting hatred and racism in our society.
The Open Doors event will be open to all members of the public. It will feature a guided tour of the mosque, a chance to meet Quebecois Muslims, ask any questions one may have about Islam and Muslims, and of course, to enjoy some delicious refreshments. We hope that this will help open doors for discussion and dialogue and help us to come together in our united goal of a securing an inclusive, peaceful and prosperous Quebec for all.
We look forward to welcoming you. To help us best accommodate you, please RSVP by February 20th, 2017. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. Please forward this invitation to anyone else you feel may be interested. Thank you for your attention and support.
